China's Ministry of Agriculture says the country is confronted with a growing threat from some 400 poisonous exotic species.

The Ministry says China has become one of the countries suffering most from illegally imported poisonous species.

China has established a research center to prevent such species' entering the country and evaluate the risk posed by poisonous exotic species.
